Professor Of Electronic & Microelectronic Engineering – School of Engineering

We are pleased to announce that UCC are inviting that applications for the full-time permanent post of Professor of Electronic and Microelectronic Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate of international standing to lead microelectronics engineering research through collaboration between the School of Engineering and Tyndall National Institute at UCC, where a substantial research infrastructure already exists. The successful candidate also become an Academic Member of the Institute.

 

The Professor will undertake internationally leading research broadly aligned to one or more of the research priority areas with MCCI while working within the Electrical and Electronic Engineering discipline at UCC. The appointee will also provide academic leadership to the microelectronics research infrastructure within UCC and Tyndall, and proactively engage with key Irish Industry partners. He/she will also perform research-led teaching and give leadership support to the development of educational initiatives within the Electrical and Electronic Engineering discipline.

The appointee will have a substantial international reputation in Electronic and Microelectronic Engineering, with a demonstrable track record in acquiring significant research funding. A track record in, or the potential for, excellence in the delivery of research-led teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels should be demonstrated. Working under the general direction of the Head of the School of Engineering, the Professor will be expected to provide strong, proactive academic leadership in both teaching and research, as well as enhancing collaborative links between the School of Engineering and Tyndall National Institute.For more information, including full details of the post, selection criteria and application process see www.ucc.ie/hr/vacancies.
