We hosted our Annual Forum last week in Tyndall National Institute, this year we had a particularly strong turn out with over 70 industry guests, from 24 companies including Xilinx, S3 Group, Intel, Boston Scientific, Analog Devices to name a few. Our centre is committed to driving Ireland’s knowledge economy by creating and growing talent in microelectronics engineering, securing R&D jobs for the future and attracting further investment in these deep technology sectors. The forum is our key event to showcase our research excellence and to provide our industry members with key insights from our researchers and industry experts.
Topics discussed this year were Quantum entanglement, open system architecture, RF solutions to empower 5G, embedded systems, precision ADC for Smartagri.
Our Executive Director Donnacha O Riordan announced the appointment of Dr. Jeff Walling from University of Utah who will drive the RF solutions to enable 5G, IoT and beyond to further enhance our research capabilities. We are delighted to have Jeff on board to drive this research agenda for the centre.
The MCCI Forum demonstrates the deep technology expertise, research capability and commercialisation that exists in Ireland, as well as the international network, and research programmes with international institutions and agencies. The Forum is yet another way to drive innovation by connecting people, ideas and deep technology.
