Eric Thompson joins MCCI as a Principal Investigator, bringing over 25 years of deep industry expertise in analog and mixed-signal IC design. His research at MCCI focuses on precision at increasing speeds, addressing the fundamental challenges of building high-performance signal chains and the data converters within them. His work targets key system-level challenges including noise, linearity, jitter and loading effects, with a particular emphasis on advancing the state of the art in core converter design.
Eric’s technical expertise spans precision ADC architecture and design, high-speed ADC and SERDES design, signal chain architecture development, and design leadership across audio, automotive and video applications. Throughout his career he has held roles as both Analog Design Engineer and Design Manager, leading high-performing teams and delivering complex, high-performance converter solutions across multiple demanding application domains.
